How do I submit my completed lab assignments?
Every assignment spec includes step-by-step submission instructions:
- Export your final project render, screenshot, or video artifact.
- Upload the artifact to your Google Sites Student Portfolio under the corresponding unit page.
- Include a short description detailing your process, tools used, and any challenges resolved.
- Copy your published Google Sites page URL and turn it in on Google Classroom.
What software do I need to install for these courses?
All core software used in the AED Module Library is free or open-source:
- 3D Modeling & Animation: Blender (Free & Open Source)
- Game Engine Development: Unreal Engine 5 (Free for Education & Developers)
- 2D Image Editing & Texturing: Krita or GIMP (Free & Open Source)
- Reference Management: PureRef (Free / Pay-What-You-Want)
What if my home computer cannot run Unreal Engine 5?
All lab specs are designed with flexible hardware fallbacks:
- If your home PC cannot run Unreal Engine 5, you can complete 3D modeling and UV unwrapping tasks in Blender, or focus on pre-production planning (PureRef mood boards, storyboards, and mini GDDs).
- Classroom lab workstations are equipped to run all Unreal Engine 5 assignments during class studio hours.
How are my assignments evaluated and graded?
Every assignment spec includes a standardized 3-part rubric:
- Technical Execution (4-5 pts): Artifact meets all technical specifications and industry practices.
- Documentation & Process (4-5 pts): Thorough process notes, references, and breakdown included.
- Portfolio Presentation (4-5 pts): Well-organized on Google Sites with clear titles and summaries.
